Meanings behind the Label.......

Meat and animal derivatives; Your guess was as good as mine until I did a bit of digging. Shocked was a little understatement. The term; Meat and animal derivatives basically means that the meat in your dog food can actually by law be sourced from literally any animal. ANY. So in theory your dog could be eating a horse, cow, pig, rat or giraffe.

The choice of animal though is one thing but the part of the animal it comes from is just as shocking. We don`t want to eat things like an animals head, feet or guts but guess what if we don`t then your dogs will!! I know shocking isn`t it.

Manufacturers choose this method for one reason and one reason only. It`s cheap. what`s worse though is that some manufacturers get bags of "meat" delivered to them at the factory and even they don`t really know what`s inside so when they get another delivery of "meat" it could literally be from a completely different animal.

If your animal is allergic to one type of protein you may not know what exact protein is inside, at the end of the day the manufacturers don`t.
